Many hoped that the increased rains from this winter’s El Niño would help reduce the drought conditions in California that are helping cause intense wildfire seasons. But less than anticipated precipitation in certain areas of the country, like central California, have lead experts to tamp down their optimism.
Overnight thunderstorms caused a small fire near Bass Lake that fire crews were able to extinguish yesterday.
Here’s another update for Madera County’s 5th District residents from Supervisor Wheeler on upcoming events:
Hello District 5 Constituents,
This is a friendly reminder that Supervisor Wheeler will be hosting his annual North Fork Town Hall Meeting this Thursday June 9th at the North Fork Rancheria Community Center (56900 Kuhugib Rd) from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
I have attached the (1) event flyer and (2) draft agenda. Additionally, Tom asked me to again share the flyer regarding the free (3) Hazard Waste Drop Off event that is coming up on June 18th. The final attachment is a (4) water conservation tool kit flyer.
Lastly, if you are a school districts or a special districts and issues around tree mortality please feel free to reach out to me as there may be a partial funding application that you would be eligible to apply for.
