In the continued collaborative effort with the Eastern Madera County Fire Safe Council, The Cascadel Ranch Fire Safe Council facilitated this home hardening demonstration in Cascadel Ranch.
Caulking cracks in siding can help prevent embers getting a toe hold.
Simple home hardening steps were taken. The simple things can make all the difference.
This included caulking cracks, vents, cleaning roof and structure, creating defensible space and more.
The Cascadel Ranch Fire Safe Council (FMC) and the Eastern Madera County Fire Safe Council (EMCFSC) collaborate per the 2012 statewide MOU between the California Fire Safe Council and the NFPA Firewise Communities program.
Working with CAL FIRE and other local agencies, FMC and the EMCFSC are able to amplify collaborative efforts by leveraging scarce resources.
You can see some of the work and defensible space before and after photos below. Click a thumbnail for a pop up window with navigation.
